The lazy pool days to the warm summer nights, it's been a great season so far and to us, summer is still here!
We've taken the time to rest, relax and enjoy the summer months in nature. By nature we mean golfing, hikes, and visiting beautiful wineries in the Niagara region.
Supporting local is a big philosophy of ours, especially businesses that are aligned to our core values.
It was a real treat to visit organic/biodynamic vineyards along Niagara-on-the-Lake this summer. It was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. To discover local and learning that the products are cultivated with great care makes the wine taste that much better. By a mile.
With the USA/Canada border still closed (Canadians driving to the States), travel plans this summer became local and it opened my perspective to realize how good we have it here. The things around the corner can sometime be overlooked and easily taken for granted. Ontario has a lot to offer for summer retreats, even when it means escaping somewhere close to home.
Here's a list of the great wineries that practice sustainable farming and produce produce organic/biodynamic wines. We recommend that you check out these wineries if you're ever in the Niagara region:
- Southbrook Vineyards - their Riesling & Connect wines are our fave
- Frogpond Farm - Pioneers of organic wines in Niagara. Lovechild and their grape juice is delicious.
- Hidden Bench
- Ravine Vineyard
- Tawse Winery
- Redstone Wines
- Trail Estate Winery - this is actually located in the Prince Edward County region, but thought we'd add this to our list as a bonus ;)
Shop & visit local, you won't regret it!
Cheers to Summer 2021! We hope it was as fruitful as ours.
